BIANCA I 41 & living her best life!

I’m on a mission to photograph 40 women over the age of 40, of all shapes and sizes, from different backgrounds, and different views of life.

Bianca is my first participant. She not only traveled from Maryland for her photo session but she also waited a few months for her session after I had to pause things due to COVID-19 and some self reflecting time last year.

Bianca is 41, she is a retired Air Force flight attendant and a married mother of two. She grew up in the UK and has traveled to over 100 countries. Bianca is now determined on traveling the parts of the world she hasn’t yet seen. Additionally, she loves to meet people and plan fun themed parties. Bianca is an incredibly smart woman who holds two degrees; one in Business and the other in Real Estate.

She’s checked a couple of things off of her bucket list such as having children, traveling the world, and this photo session. In the future, she would love a career in public speaking and to become a mentor for the younger generation.

People describe her as fun, loving, empathetic, and safe.

A myth about being 40+ that she’d like to bust is that if you have the right mentors, discipline, and determination you can retire and not work again if that's something you want.

Her perception of time has changed. After being in the military she values time more. Her own time and other people's because she hates to waste it.

She also would like to advise her 20-year-old self to value time more and to invest.

I asked what this photo session means to her and she said to me “It means I haven't faded into "wish I did". I am still present and still the "living my best life" person that I always wanted to be and instill that into my children. Carpe Diem.”

She’s a fan of Post Malone and we danced to a couple of his songs. She told us about the countries she’s visited. Truly beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside.

Bianca, you are a queen and I was honored to have been able to photograph you. Thank you for allowing me to share your story.

Much love,

Tamara
